About / Dr. Christian Foglar, MD

Dr. Foglar was born and raised in Switzerland and received his degree from the medical school at the University of Basel. He complete his orthopedic residency, as well as orthopedic research in Switzerland, and also spent time working in Ghana, West Africa.
Soon after, he married a Californian and moved to Los Angeles. At Harbor UCLA Medical Center, he completed an internship, followed by an orthopedic trauma research fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and finally an orthopedic residency at the University of California in San Francisco which is ranked among the top 5 medical schools.
Dr. Foglar then joined Florida orthopedic Institute as a partner, but after 4 years of practice, his family, which now included three children, missed California and decided to move back to the Bay Area. Dr. Foglar has privileges at Good Samaritan, Los Gatos Community Hospital, O’Connor and Silicon Valley Surgery Center as well as being on the trauma team at Regional Medical Center in San Jose.
In addition to English, he is fluent in Spanish, Serbo-Croatian, French, Italian, and German. Dr. Foglar is in the US Army Reserves and was deployed to Kosovo and on active duty in the US, most recently completing a tour at Ft. Irwin during the summer of 2006.
