About / Dr. Rouhipour, MD

Dr. Rouhipour was born in Iran and raised in Texas. He attended the University of Texas medical school in San Antonio before completing his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the University of Southern California. He completed additional fellowship training in Orthopaedic Trauma at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina; as well as a Sports Medicine/Shoulder & Elbow Reconstruction fellowship at the University of Southern California. During his fellowship he served as a team physician for the 2007-08 men’s football Rose Bowl champions, women’s soccer national champions, and women’s volleyball Final Four teams, as well as all other USC athletes.
Dr. Rouhipour serves as faculty for the AO (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen), a Swiss group that pioneered modern fracture techniques, training Orthopaedic residents and perioperative staff in the principles of fracture care. He is also a reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Rouhipour sees all Orthopaedic problems and has particular interest in fractures, sports injuries and shoulder and elbow reconstruction. He currently serves as the medical director for Orthopaedic Trauma at Regional Medical Center, a level 2 trauma center, in San Jose.
